There's simple test to check your CMPS and few other vital parts: remove it from the engine but keep the harness connected. Put ignition to ON and turning its shaft by hand - LISTEN. You should hear injectors clicking while turning the shaft. If you remove a coil and put a spare spark plug in and put it somwhere to touch the engine ground you can also watch the sparks while turning the shaft. ECU trusts this sensor a lot

. It is a little tricky to put back, please be patient, it is not that bad: you have to turn its shaft to match the camshaft, don't force it in.
