tech gets its signal from coils or ecu depends.....for example, 1 cylinder 500 sparks X 2 ---> 1000rpm so u can see now 6 cylinders 3000 sparks ( do the math ) to wat that it comes to 1000rpm....ECU calculates all that stuff and wen it doesn't get enough sparks( cracked coils) and calculates wrong and tach goes down....correct me if i mixing something dere....
