battery is just about to give out and costco doesn't have the 24-f battery size available. anyone using an alternative battery size with no problems??
i was thinking 35 or 34 f sizes with a higher cca and reserve capacity than oem.

could i possibly measure physical dimensions and ratings and make sure its at least the same size as my battery with more power?

costco batteries are prretty cheap and supposed to be good quality.

As long as it has the right terminals and CCA it will work fine. You can guesstimate what will fit.

Yea as long as it fits under the hood you should be ok, make sure the terminals are on the right side or put longer cables on. I ran a Die Hard Gold 900cca in my Geo Metro (it kept the lights from blinking with the system)

If there is an AutoZone in your area, their gold batteries are great. Higher than stock CCA too. Had one in my Accord, even with underdrive pullies and Texas summer heat, I got 4 1/2 years out of it, where the last one only lasted 3. Still had some warranty left so I replaced it with a new one for about $35 or so.

Optima red's are super cheap - even less than I could locate anywhere on-line - at Sam's Club. I just put a 35 (not sure if that's the same one my Max takes) in my Murano for under $150, including tax.

There was a $25 rebate that helped with the price too, though.

mine from walmart was like 35 bucks after the core...855 cca i think, big sucker.

Redtops arn't cheap...compared to a normal battery that is and not much better(marketting bull****).

i could buy 6 batts or one redtop...hmm i wonder what would last longer and perform better...

I don't know too much about batteries but I like the fact that Optimas are gel type batteries. I hate dealing with acid based batteries.

I really doubt you could get an 885 CCA battery for $35. ?

Any 12V battery which fits will work. I'm using a motorcycle battery and it works fine.

Any battery that will let your hood close will work. However, depending on your charging system, cheaper batteries with fewer CCAs will not tolerate as much abuse and will fail faster in the event of a fading alternator.

But of course! And may i suggest that when you change your battery' you go ahead and take a good look at your ground points as well. I just redid my Wires and replaced my battery yesterday, as the one i got from NAPA was defective 500 CCA when it was supposed to be 850... so yeah it was under a year warenty so i cant complain too much. But back to my point. i was drawing too much current at IDLE and my voltage hit 12.3 which drew from the battery so i slowly helped to Nuke it. so. Sand Them Grounds, and Decorrode Them Terminals!

660 is the OEM Cold Cranking Amps. Mine is again on its way out 5 years later.

Guess I will also chime in about my size.

Before I had a small one too, it just barely fit. But now I've gotten about 2 inches longer and it fits just right on the battery tray.

I also got a battery withe higher CCA and it cranks a lot faster than the OEM CCA
