To answer the question about bumpstops.. They consist of 1 or two parts depending on your year/model. The first part is the rubber "boot" that surrounds and protects the strut from debris. The non "flex" section is a couple thick layers of rubber. When installed, this acts as a cushion that prevents the strut from bottoming out completely which will damage it. The second part that protects the strut is a small foamish round washer that is about 1 1/2 inches thick.. This part slides onto the shaft of the strut and has the same purpose. People cut these parts down when lowering over 1 1/2 inches to allow more suspension travel and not "ride the bumpstops".
