Based on the research I did long ago, the general consensus (sp?) is that new a b-pipe and muffler is fine, but if you play on headers and/or y-pipe, keep the stock muffler as aftermarket can be too loud. Personally, I'll likley replace the b-pipe and use a Flowmaster 40 Series Delta Flow muffler.
