Extreme examples make people think...that you are arguing just to argue.
You are right a piece of pipe is just a piece of pipe but to make it a CAI takes work and time is worth something. To me your inexpensive kit isn't worth the time and effort to make it fit where my correct CAI fit without the work. Not because of bling, but because of what I value. You value your money more than your time, I value my time. Oh and the ebay Honda kits are usually chrome and blingy (like yours), my $150 (shipped) Warpspeed CAI is painted. Chrome retains heat which undermines the whole point of a cold air intake.
I am not telling not to buy something that is a good deal, I am just saying be smart about the deals you buy. A good deal is not always a good deal, sometimes it will cost more in the long run. The best rule of thumb is that you get what you pay for. If you buy something as potentially damaging as a turbo sitting in a junkyard, you have no history of it's abuse. You do not know why that engine with the turbo was in that junkyard, do you? It is russian roulette with your engine, car, money and your life.
