There is "fitting just fine" and fitting right. I used to be a penny pincher and think like you until I realized that in the long run it is cheaper to spend the money and buy the correct parts than to cheap out. The correct parts, tho more expensive to purchase, last longer and perform better. The cheapo parts tend to need replacing and eventually you get tired of working on something that "fits fine". I prefer do it once and do it right.
To each their own. You can build you car your way. I will build mine my way.
"A junkyard turbo"? That is always a bad idea.
