There will be glare if not projectors. Maybe one just didn't stand at the "right" position to check when he looked at hid in r34 or stock without projectors. Park the car by a wall and stand inside the glare and stare......
I have 9004 hid in stock housing. The way I did it was put on shields and aim them "crossed eyed". Not that don't I like projectors, I love them!!! I had a buddy to help me retro fit projectors in aftermarket housings, but those were gone with the max that was totaled last year.
