i live in Miami and the cops here lets all these people with ridiculous looking HID bulbs get away. i have 12000k violet blue HID bulbs in my E36 headlights and i haven't had any problems with the cops down here. now for some of you on here may well know that i am still trying to finish my E36 with E60 projector retrofit so that i can have the BMW bi-xenon projectors on my car so that i can get the most out the light output. but supposably HID's were or still are illegal on non-projected headlights but thats bull since the older Acura TL's have HID's from factory with no projectors and the same for the 1st gen Lexus IS300 and some other cars as well. and i don't have aftermarket HID's. i got the ballast and ignitors from a Nissan Murano and the bulbs i just ordered them from ebay for $80 shipped.
