Pic of 235-45-17
I know there are more than enough threads about tire sizes in general but I was looking for some pics of the 235-45-17 on stock suspension and rims if possible. I am not really concerned views from the back, just from the side. Any links or pics to post?

But so far loving the ride... MUCH softer ride than the Nitto Extremes I had on my Max.

they must be 7 if he is contemplating a safety issue with the 235. if it was 7.5 then he would have nothing to worry about. im about to replace to mine so i would like to see the outcome of this. i expect alot out of my car so i drive it hard and i would hate to be putting up a post about a tire failure because i went with the 235 on stock 7's.

When will they ever learn?
What part of "don't ask a tire dealer" is it that you guys are having trouble understanding?
If you want to know whether it's safe to run 235/45R17 tires on 7"-wide rims, contact the MANUFACTURER of the tires, not the dealer. Remember, the minimum acceptable rim width for 235/45R17 tires from EVERY TIRE MANUFACTURER is 7.5". There are no exceptions. If the manufacturer of your tires is prepared to violate their own acceptable rim width specifications and tell you it's safe to run their 235/45R17 tires on 7"-wide rims, GET IT IN WRITING! You or your heirs may need it.
For further information on the danger of running tires on undersized rims, check out the following thread:

Never underestimate the power of denial!

y2kse, you have probably stated it before, but what are you running for rubber? I need new rubber and I am my own worst enemy when it comes to making decisions like this I guess the debate in my mind is, do I spend $$$$$ on pilot sports or do I drop down to 225/45/17's???

I've been running Kumho Supras 712s for sometime now and they are soooo much better. The 712s have 280 (might be lower) treadwear (lower is better for traction, but worse for lifespan), AA-traction rating, and A-temp.... definitely the better choice... plus it's cheaper.
Avoid Nitto 450s. Crap tires that tire/rim shops give away virtually free with wheel packages cause they are such crap tires.

Some people swear by Nitto 450s and some swear at them. Admittedly the Kumho 712s have a better reputation as do the Nitto 555s. Unfortunately, neither of those tires is available in 225/50R17. So if you want to stay with the OEM tire geometry and the Nitto 450s scare you, go with the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S's in 225/50R17. Otherwise, drop down to 225/45R17. But keep an eye on the load rating.

If I go to 225/45/17s I was thinking Bridgestone re730's. I know this is another beat topic, but do we know for sure what tire/rim combo nissan calibrated our speedos on? That is really the only think that bugs me out a little.

I don't think it really makes that much difference which tire/rim combo Nissan used to calibrate our speedos. 225/45R17s should be just fine.

fyi on the Nittos... I ran Nitto Xtreme 555's on my 2k Max, and unfortunately they also rode like they were made of iron. They handled great for me (mostly dry in socal), but the ride was much harsher than I have now with the Pilot Sports.
I didn't regret getting the Nittos because I loved being able to turn without even touching the brakes, but I wasn't going to do it again.
If you don't mind the stiffer ride, save the $$ and get the Nittos. I can't speak for the 450s.. but I was happy with the 555's... I do think I jarred a filling or two loose though.
