No start issue
Hello, I am working on a 2000 maxima manual drive. The car was given to me. Old owner stated that I needed a key and battery. He also stated that the car was running and driving before he parked it about 3 years back. I had the key cut an supposedly programmed. I try to start the car. Dash lights fully light up but do not dim. Clock dims but car will not start. I hear clicking but no sound from starter. So I exit car try to start by hand using starter. Starter turns motor turns not start. I'm getting gas and spark and compression is good. Yet the fuel injectors are not sparying all six. So I'm wondering if it's something with the key or ECU. Once again when I turn the key the dash lights do not fade at all. But the clock dims like when your about to start a car but my dash light just stay completely on while the key is in ignition. When I remove key lights go off security light comes on. So I'm wondering is it the key or the ignition switch or computer.

Battery --> 40 amp fuse C --> Ignition Switch --> Inhibitor Relay --> Starter Solenoid
Check it our by wiggling the the ignition key and checking the relay contacts (the relay is by the battery). Also, check out fuse fuse #21. It's located in the fuse box by your left hand.
Good luck and let us know how it went.
