So I have a 1995 Nissan Maxima Gle with the clarion bose radio and the radio still works, but the display is broken and sometimes shuts off by itself. I want to source a factory bose radio from another Nissan/Infiniti vehicle. So from my research, the 5th gen maxima and A33 i30/i35 radio have the same connectors as a 4th gen, but I notice the radio face plate it a little different as in it's wider at the top and narrower at the bottom. The 4th gen radio have a rectangular face plate as in equal length at the top and bottom. So would a 5th gen Maxima bose radio fit in my 4th gen Maxima? I'm looking for something that is plug and play. Not looking for aftermarket radio.
i didn't want aftermarket radios for a while, but once I did it, I couldn't believe I waited so long, besides finding a bose that isn't broken, you are better off putting in aftermarket. you can do this under $80. its not too difficult even for first timers. my car is now in the 21st century. i have hands free calling, better audio, bluetooth, and steering wheel controls remained to just name a few. i recoomend looking at the cheapest option on crutchfeild. they will literally have everything down to the connector for your exact situation, they also take phone calls and will hold hands. they did it for me in the middle of my install and he helped me figure it out.
dont waste your time and money, you prolly would spend the same on a used bose unit. and if you didn't know the 5th gen ones are plauged with issues.

I believe the 5th gen Bose radio isn't a standard double DIN size like the 4th gen. I went with a Pioneer touch screen media player and I was lucky enough to find a base model 5th gen double DIN A/C vent. this dash unit doesn't take discs.

its amazing, i always liked alpine from back in the day when aftermarket radios actually mattered. so i knew it wouldn't be bad, and its been amazing.
