No need to ever use new VCs unless they crack. In that case get a used one (6th gen preferably). If you need tube seals, then use a hole saw and open the ***** up.
I just put RTV on the tubes.

I got some on Ebay but didn't use the included gasket or PCV valve. first set leaked prematurely and seller sent me replacement. the gasket that came with them got hard and brittle quick and leaked within a month...

Looks like the gasket let go AND I have a 2 hairline cracks near the bottom.
Of course, it's the valve cover on the back of the engine, under the intake

Update:
Beck/Arnley Brand is over double the price of other after market valve covers, but it's Nissan OEM. Even the gasket is Nissan, Made in Japan.

I ordered the Beck/Arnley last week. It was shipped from Tennessee where the Nissan factory is. I was looking at the cheaper valve covers but from the few reviews I read they are just Chinese junk.

Have you successfully replaced the tube seals on the plastic covers?
