Throttle body alignment

Does anyone know the procedure for a throttle body alignment? Buddy says I need to do that but doesn't know the exact procedure. Reason is my idle fluctuates, My idle sits around 350 when the car is warm right now but I've seen it before around 600. Around 900-1000 on cold start up. Any advice would be helpful thanks.

couple of things, you did not say what year is your maxima since the 5 gen in 2000-2001 has a cable throttle body, there is an adjustment screw. Now the 2002 and on no longer use throttle cable, everything is now driven by the wired, aka wirelessly by the TPS and the Accelerator Pedal sensor, where you can not make any adjustment, which is programed through the ECM. Hopefully that where you can find the answers. The idle shouldn't be around 350, because it would cause the engine to stall or hestiate. Usually normal condition should be around 5-600 rpm. You might have some issue with the idle air control.

It is a 2002, I apologize. And it doesn't happen all the time it's only when I'd say I let the car warm up pretty well and then park. And the car kind of catches itself before it stalls out and it'll jump the rpms up to about 800 and then let it fall down again and it'll repeat that process until it eventually does stall out. I see it when I'm parked most of the time so there's no acceleration. After I take off car runs fine it's just while I'm parked. Any advice?

Your idle is lower then it should be on park. You can try the idle relearn procedure to see it'll adjust to the correct RPM.

Hopefully this fixes your problem.
