WHERE is the check valve?

Hi guys,

Two folks were good enough to help me figure out I probably have a bad vacuum check valve, however, I can NOT find the thing.

It's an 03 Max 6 speed, and I've seen plenty of 4th gen pics and it's easy to spot. If anyone can PLEASE, in the name of all things good, tell me exactly where to find it, or better yet, send a photo, I would be extremely grateful.

Many thanks!

Jack

Sorry, I guess it's in the hose. This varies from car to car. I didn't notice you had a 2003. I never pay attention to that hose, it's never touched lol.

I have a car and IM laying around, I'll go look.

I found nothing lol. The hose is too stiff to feel anything, but it must be in there.

I took off the hose and tested it (blowing with my mouth).

It's in the hose, I assume the part closest to the booster.

Thanks....but I replaced the hoses and tossed the old ones. At least I KNOW the valve is bad, since it's gone.

Now, can you tell me which one of the hoses it's in? Is it the shorter one that comes directly off the brake booster, or the longer one that attaches to the passenger side rear of the IM?

Thanks,

Jack

The closest one b/c it's reinforced, but it doesn't matter. Go buy any check valve that fits the hose you have and splice it in.
