P1456 and P 1147
Hi Everyone,
I am new here, bought a Nissan Maxima 3.5 V6 two years ago and I loved.
I do have a problem that I really need help.
Last year a engine light come up and the code was P0456, I went to the dealership and they replaced the gas cap, reset the code and problem went away.
Now the same problem come up but with two more codes at the same time (P1456 and P 1147). I did some research and seems they are all related to the Oxygen sensor bank 1 sensor 2 ( I am wrong ?? ), but I cant find the part number to order the part.
Also I am new in Sherwood Park - Alberta - Canada, I do not have a mechanic that I can trust to take my car when need.
Anyone in the area that can recommend someone that knows about Nissan ?
Guys I really need some help on this, these codes are driving me crazy and I do depend of my car to work.
Any help will be very appreciated.

Hi Colt, thanks for the info, I did read but I don't have the scanner or the tools to do the diagnostic, even if I had I don't have much experience fixing cars.
Any other way that I can find out which sensors are bad or what is wrong ?
I am trying to find a trustful mechanic around my area.

Do it yourself.
Check engine light scanner can be had for about $20 online and free scans at your local auto parts store, like Advance/Auto Zone.
The o2 remover tool can be purchased for less than $20, and ramps to drive your car up on will run about $40.
New o2 will cost anywhere from $25-75, I recommend NTK.
Doing this yourself will not only save you money, but it will leave no doubts that the job was done and done right.
Most mechanics SUCK.
Do it yourself and thank me later.

I have had the engine light on for years with the same codes, the oxygen sensors are bad but I haven't had any issues in the car by having them like that. The only problem is that if your car wont pass inspection with the light and the codes. You can do the job yourself pretty easy to do, that way you can learn more and more about your vehicle. I lived in Florida and the is no inspections there, but now I'm in PA where there is, reason why I'm not changing my plates.
Here is a video in case you like to try.

Thanks guys, I will look into the scanner and the tool for sure.
You hit the nail in the head when you said most of the mechanics sucks and if I want done right I have to do myself.
You guys are luck for being in the states, here in Canada the mechanic service sucks 99% of the time if is more complicated then replacing break pads.

If you have a smartphone you should consider getting a ELM327 Bluetooth OBDII scanner. It's $15 to $20 on Ebay or Amazon; lots of functionality. It plugs into the OBDII port under you steering wheel. Google play has two good apps that I use: Car Gauge Pro and Torque.

+1 And if you have iPhone get the same scanner but the wifi version. It won't work through Bluetooth on iPhone

I would suggest replacing the O2 sensor and reset the codes. I find my 02 is a bit hyper sensitive and throws codes a little too easy. The O2 sensors should be easy (never did it myself) but they are pretty straightforward.

Stomped..
Wondering if the O2 sensor would cause my issue? I have an 03' automatic and when I come to a stop it cuts off(not often), the engine stalls. It idles very low as well in drive while on the brake. It starts right back up but periodically it cuts off when I come to full stop. As long as I'm on the gas it doesn't cut off but does stutter once in a while, while pressing the gas. The check engine light came on and went then went off. Went to Autozone and no codes showed....? What would cause this? I'm stomped. I don't have a scanner, yet.
**Update got code P0340...Could be the camshaft position sensor.. Guy at Auto zone stated its electrical...? Would that cause it to stall?
