Drivers side fog light is being stubborn

Title says it all... Does anyone know why it is so flipping hard to take out the drivers side fog light? My passengers light was easy cause I just unscrewed the screw under it, it came right out. There seems to be no screw at all around or under the drivers side fog light. I literally sat there for a good 30 min with a hammer hitting the fog light so it would come out. No luck. I don't know why it won't come out, I've been trying everything. 2001 Maxima 20th AE. Please help!

Your performing this from the backside of the fog housing right? If not, that's the way to do it. Remove drivers side headlight (2-10mm) bolts. Once you remove headlamp you now have direct access to the back of the fog light housing. On the lower half of the backside of the housing is a 10mm bolt holding it in place on a 5th gen. I use a regular box end wrench for this because of the tight workspace available. Once retaining bolt is removed just push or pop the whole housing out the front. You now have direct access to the bulb or anything else you wanna mess with...

Sorry I didn't make that clear. But yes that is exactly what I did to the passenger one. For some reason there isn't a screw on the drivers side one

Just move away the plastic splash guard from under that area and take a good look at the back on the fog light. It should not be too hard to figure out how to take it out. It might be a little hard and need some pushing.

There should have been a 10mm nut on there. Had a bit of rust buildup and I had to give it a good hit with hand to get it to come out.

Maybe you have done this already but have you felt under there with you finger to confirm there is no nut or it is not rounded off?
