Oil Filter and oil Maxima 2002

Hello guys,

So I got my maxima 2002 oil leak fix due to a hose water and bad gasket and a o-cooler ring. So I want to change the oil filter and fill it up with oil but I do not know which one to pick. What do you guys use? I want something cheap with good performance. What works better?? what kind of filter and oil do you guys use?

-Thanks!

Pennzoil platinum full synthetic $25 at walmart.
Can't get cheaper then that. Search for it on bobistheoilguy, VQs like it.

Mobil 1 or K&N filter. They are build better then all the rest so why not?
It's cheap. $11 on amazon.

I was told by Universal Nissan here in Orlando that they do full synthetic Mobil 1 oil and oil filters on all GTRs. Never deviated from that choice since.

**edit** Wal-Mart also offers the Mobil 1 for under $30 also

Ok. Seems like mobile 1 filter is the winner. So what kind of oil is recommended , 10-40w?? 5-40w? 30w?

I been using Castrol GTX since 2004. Synthetic oil in an oil burning engine is tossing money away. For me I have to add a quart half way into my oil change interval.

Mobil 1 synthetic all the way! its only $26.xx at my local walmart...5w30 is recommended..but you may have to alter based on climate you live in.
As far as filters..(air and oil) There is none better than MANN Filters IMO. I have a half a dozen in stock. This is my brand of choice and the best bang for the buck for many years on all my cars.
...never heard it? its HUGE

walmart 5qt jug mobil 1 0w-40 = $23 (says oem spec for gtr on back of jug)
advanced auto purolator pure one filter = $7

If you have money to burn and don't want to save go to nearest parts store, buy same oil for $50 and a mobil1 filter for $15.

Ok just ordered mobile 1 m1-108 ! so this time I'm going to buy 5-30w even though I have been using cheap oil but they're 10-40w. I'm going to buy the 5 quarts gallon. How much oil do you guys put ? The whole gallon? How many quarts?
