Ok so i have a serious problem with my 2000 maxima. Developed a leak from the passenger side transmission oil cooler line, where it connects to the rad. The hose clamp was basically fused with the hose and broke when i tried to use pliers to get it off. Managed to pry it off enough for the hose to come off...only problem is the fitting or tube or whatever it is that comes out of the radiator that the hose goes on broke off inside the hose. Am I screwed? Looks like maybe the tube can be replaced, there is a 19mm nut around it that comes off, but a whole bunch of coolant started coming out when i played around with it so i tightened it back up. Can just this be replaced or do i actually need a whole new rad? Help please.

All the cooler is, is a pipe that runs inside the lower radiator tank. Unfortunate, I have never seen one taken out or replaced or whatever. Nissan does not sell the oil cooler separately. Nissan sells it as part of the lower radiator tank. Regardless, you would have to take the radiator apart.

Look and see if the are any radiator repair shops by you and call them and see what they would charge. Otherwise, it is replace the whole radiator.

You can seal off the lines from the transmission and drive the car. It would be OK unless you are in a real hot area and dealing with stop and go driving like a delivery car.

Two ways that you can do: Replace the radiator with OEM Koyo.
Install the radiator cooler (Hayden) and bypass the radiator.
