car overheating...water pump is how much?

206k I guess it's time... how much is a water pump? Radiator and reserve don't leak water at all, still full so I'm guessing the pump is bad. Can I get a cheap aftermarket? I'm trying to upgrade in august once my lease is up.

How sure are you that you don't have a plugged up radiator. And how sure are you that your thermostat isn't the problem.

You could be correct when you say the water pump is the problem, but how have you come to that conclusion?

Pumps rarely fail. Look elsewhere 1st.

Oh really? I need a thermostat or something else first.

I'll start by changing the thermostat, Do I check the radiator by flushing it and adding in new fluid? The radiator is about 3 years old.

is it overheating in traffic/standing still or on a highway/moving? your fans might not be coming on.

Water pump is timing chain driven. It's not the water pump.

T-stat is a good place to start.

Definitely worth looking into as well.
