I know it's more of a "general discussion" but there's 10x more people looking at 5th gen maximas than the general discussion board. And technically it's my 5th gen Maxima I'm trading so it almost applies haha

Was just curious to see what exactly is the process in Massachusetts for trading vehicles. As far as signing the titles over, if you put any dollar amounts, or even trade? Etc.

I believe I'll be trading with a New Hampshire vehicle as well so do I act as if it's the same as a Mass vehicle and just bring the title to the RMV as I would normally?

Download a gift form from the ma rmv website and fill it out like someone just gave you the car for free. No money or trades involved. Then you just pay 25 dollar gift fee instead of sales tax.

If you're just titling the car all you need is a gift for and the signed title. If you're registering you'll also need proof of insurance. The fees are 50 title. 25 gift fee. 25 registration / plates. 1/2 of your sanity, all of your patience, 3/4 of your day. What ever you do don't go to Brockton rmv.
