Driver Seat Stuck Forward

Driver Seat Stuck Forward
Hi
Driver seat is electric, and at some point a while ago the button to move the seat backward stopped working. Forward still worked, and so did everything else. It wasn't a big deal as it was positioned ok anyway. However, sister moved the seat all the way forward to get something from under the seat and now its stuck all the way forward. Can barely squeeze in and drive. Unsafe, uncomfortable, and very stupid feeling.
Hoping someone has some ideas as to what to check... some specifics would be super. I have a test light and meter, but no idea what wires to check where.
Looking forward to input. Thank you

hate to say it, but your motors shot. i had the same problem ( still do ) with my 95 passenger seat and front and back are shot, only can adjust upper section. can you at least move upper section back so you can get it to shop??

My driver's seat exhibited the same problem. We were using the auto seat option that moves it back for easy ingress/egress.
Then...it stopped working.
The dealer banged the motor and linkage with the hammer and it started working again.
Try it...let us know if it works. It doesn't cost a dime!

You'll want to tap the motor with a hammer like CVicVogel says to see if it starts working again. However, that may be a temporary fix. It may stop working again. Eventually, you'll have to replace the slide motor. You can search eBay for the slide motor kit. The Nissan part number for cars with memory seat is 87562-C9926. If your car has no memory seat, the part number is 87562-C9927. These are the part numbers for the 5th generation 2000-2003 Maximas. It costs around $295. I replaced the one on my 03 myself, and it took me around 2 hours. It's not as difficult as I thought it would be.
