Good question! I don't know. I would try wrapping it with some heat resistant tape, put it back in and see what happens. It is an experiment if you will, but it is cheaper than buying a new O2 sensor..

You can go to courtesyparts.com and order on line or call them, the phone number is on the web page.
Ditto for nissanpartszone.com that has lower prices than courtesy.

Rock auto parts
www.rockauto.com
has the Bosch sensor part #15955 for $42.79, and Bosch #13374) for $47.89. No tax, but there will be a small shipping charge. Their catalogue has pictures, so it's easy to choose.
They have a huge selection (over 3 dozen) of oxygen sensors, with prices ranging from $29.99 to over $100. I have been buying parts from them for 10 years and i am very happy with the quality and cost of their parts.
