Factory HID Flicker with turn signal

I've found others that have posted but no solid solution. When driving with the headlights on, when the turn signal cancels, it makes the headlight flash off for second. Sometimes one of the headlights goes out. Cycling the headlight off and on makes them both come on. One headlight is now turning purple.

Any for sure fix?

IIRC the fix that was given in one of the threads that I had seen was to change out the headlight stalk itself.

i remember reading someone saying they did the stalk but did not fix it. some were saying it could be the actual pieces down in the column that the stalk attaches too.

there does seem to be a small short, or loss of electrical contact for a fraction of a second. For me it only happened when I had it set on auto, not when I manually turned them on.

I just noticed my passenger low beam off this week.

When I turn the lights on, it flickers then stays off.
No matter how many times you try,or if you use auto or manual, it does the same thing, it just won't power up to stay on.

Not sure what to think, I know very little about HID's.
ballast or bulbs?

the quickest way to tell if it is ballasts or bulbs is to switch the bulbs around(passenger side to driver side, and vice versa). if the problem follows the bulb, Then it is the bulb. If not, then it may be the ballast.

Nevermind, forgot I had a FSM. Looks fairly straightforward. Airbag comes off as well as steering wheel.

Thanks blue sky, did that last night and it certainly is a bulb.

I'm somewhat embarrassed that I didn't think to do that on my own
Maybe I just though they weren't interchangeable

You're welcome. It is good that it wasn't the ballast, which requires removal of headligts

OAN, if you want affordable D2r bulbs that are also pretty trustworthy you can try the retrofit source. you can get a pair of their 35W d2r for $45 (come in OEM 4300K, 5000K, or 6000K)
