Advance timing with android phone?

Did you get it to stick at 650 even after restarting? I have always been able to get it to 650 after doing the sequence. I have let it run for the reco'd 20sec all the way up to 5+ minutes but as soon as I turn the car off and restart it goes back to 850. Did you do anything differently or did yours stick and stay at 650?

The last step of releasing to pedal within 3 seconds of the MIL light going steady is tricky believe it or not.... Make sure that's done right and start the car right up. It stuck for me... I only let it run for 30 seconds at idle the shut it down. And it stuck

Us with huge MAF's have LOW LOW loads, just because there's not much registering.

When connecting select these: Nissan, ECM (gasoline), 10 (should be the only option). Go into OBD Menu and select Self Test. There you will find the relearns and adjustments. I also keep my protocol on Auto and have no issue. Could always send Issac a debug log if you're having issues. Follow the link I previously posted and tell him about your issue.

Omg that's horrible... Im getting 450 out of a tank! That'. About 29 miles on the highway and 13 back roads/city driving.... As you see cruise control on 65 ish saves ALOT.... I consider my car fuel efficient... Mileage is as good as my mazda 626 was.
Also use Lucas fuel additive, with premium fuel

And I'm not trying to start a pissing contest or try and throw this thread more off topic but if you let the car idle for 2 hours then drive it 1 mile then your mpg is going to be absolutely horrible. Cuz then you've only driven 1 mile on all that fuel burnt.

I drive 480 miles a week. Fill up on Sunday then 10 bucks on Friday to get home from work...... Every week from marshfield ma to mashpee ma.... I drive normal and I get fanominal fuel mileage.... Don't hate.

How did this thread get so off topic so quickly? Let's talk about my apparent drinking problem while we are at it...
My wife totaled up all the purchases from liqueur stores from the last bank statement and it was somewhere around $380ish. Holy crap! I'm literally pissing money away!

I don't think your drinking is the problem. It's the wife counting how much you drink that's the issue here. Lol
My drinking issue is that the more I drink.... the clumsier my girl gets ....

In the spirit of what this thread has become... maybe for every bottle I drink I should dump one in my tank to see how my mileage improves. 1,000 miles per tank FTMFW!!!! Special thanks to Captain Morgan that is. Captain Crunch is a fake... only three stripes makes his @** a Sergeant!

Neither Captain Crunch nor Captain Morgan have and rank insignia whatsoever. And even if they did...stripes wouldn't come into play for officers only NCO's.
A Captain would have two bars (aka railroad tracks) not a stripe. Unless he's a Navy Captain, in which case he'd have an Eagle and Crest insignia (think Full Bird Colonel, same rank different branch).
Point is, neither is a real Captain. And I'm glad I cleared that up too because the fact they are both fictional characters had no bearing on their ability to Captain anything.

I looked into this, mainly because I am on the clock getting paid by the hour right now and the boss is out...

So I got my OBD2 Dongle today. Took it out and got it all synced up.
I have a ghost P1800 code. It won't clear. I do have the VIAS BOP, but I have the solenoid still attached to the manifold, plugged in, with the vacuum ports capped off.
It appears to let me advance the timing +2 degrees. But both Car Gauge Pro and Torque register the timing at 10-13 at idle. Tapping the throttle makes it sporadically jump well into the 30's.
This doesn't seem like normal behavior. Is the pedal dance/ idle relearn procedure necessary for this to work?
I'm confused...

And a n other news... Captain Cru ch is the shizzzz especially the peanut butter. Incase anyone was wondering, Firefly festival is I full swing. I'll be sober on Monday.

Okay. Did the pedal dance with success.
If I pull up the Ignition timing gauge without touching the self-test procedure, it will show anywhere from 10-13* btdc. If I select 0* on the ignition timing advancement feature, the gauge will show 15* btdc. If I select +2, the gauge reflects that and shows 17* btdc. You can hear the engine change/ rpm fluctuation when I do this.
When I try to 'save', or exit the app/ turn the car off/ unplug the dongle you can hear the timing drop back down.
Kind of frustrating that it won't stick.
Edit: Would a bad MAF or VIAS solenoid cause retarded timing by default? Or a bad knock sensor that shows no codes?

I had that ghost code too. I'm not sure what too care of it but I replaced both the rear cam sensor and MAF and it went away. So it's going to be one of those I bet.

I bought a new dongle on eBay because I was having some time out for no response issues with the app. I now have no connection issue and the data transfer is so much quicker. I had an old big black and orange ver 1.4b elm327. This is what I replaced it with :

hmm, so the idle relearn on this app doesn't work? I have tried to reduce my rpm, because of the advance i idle at 800rpm. I tried to bring it down, but 0.0 is the lowest setting. We have to pedal dance?
