Part compatibility between 5th and 5.5 gens

Ok fellas, I searched and can't find anything too specific on this. I'm buying an 01 AE autotragic as a parts car, an I'm gonna take the obvious tails, door sills etc off it. I was wondering how many other parts would be transferable.

So my hopes for this thread is that we can constructively accumulate all the interchangeable parts associated with these two gen's, and if they are a direct fit or need modification. Either from general knowledge or personal experience.

The parts I was hoping to transfer are:
Passenger doors
Front fender?
Front knuckles, auto/manual
LCA's
Rims
Side markers
Rotors
and possibly some others

Plz let me know, thx

Hopefully this isn't a thread that already exists and we can make a useful one out of it!

Well most of the body parts Including door and what not are interchangeable for the 2000 to 2003 models years. I had a damage right rear door on my 2000 from someone backing into it and just bought a door from a 2003 maxima that was the same color and bolted right in and looks great.

Looking at the computer in our parts department at the dealership the Front knuckles, Lower control arms, rims and side markers will all interchange.

The brakes from the 2002 are bigger then the 01 so those wouldn't work for you.

Alright that's great, thanks.
I wasn't sure about the knuckles, because I know that the civic knuckles are different between manual and autotragic.

It's scary to think that 5th gen's have even smaller brakes than 5.5's, cus even they stop like poop. It's probly gonna be a 6th gen BBK upgrade then.

I also wasn't sure about front fenders, because I know the front bumper/grills/headlights are different on the 5's.

So I got the parts car, and am very happy with for the extremely low price I paid
It's an 01 AE, and the tails are mint that alone makes it worth it.

I am in the process of removing knuckles and LCA's do paint and press new bushings/bearings into. As well as many other parts.

I wondering has anyone tried using the fogs from a 5 to a 5.5?
I know they are different but, they are free and the bulbs work haha

Sorry to jack the thread, but does anyone know if the A/C fan assembly from a 5gen is compatible on a 5.5 as well?

Just bought a new 5.5 and the AC is extremely noisy, even at level 2. Sounds like a spaceship taking off...

I have an old 5th gen on their lot that's about to be scrapped and would like to have them swap the AC components if its possible

Comparing a 2000 and 2003 and based on Nissan part numbers, they are different. And the same is true on Rock Auto.

I called a Nissan dealership parts counter and asked the same question. He couldnt give me a straight answer....

Like if the NISSAN PARTS COUNTER cant tell me if parts are interchangeable WHO CAN.

Anyways, thanks for the info!

My i35 fan bearing must have gone out and it made running the blower a scary experience for me too. I swapped my 4th gen fan into the i35 and put the i35 one into the 4th gen. Everything major was plug and play and surprisingly the i35 one did not didn't make any noise in its new home.

IMHO, its an error to assume any parts counter would know this. They are not trained on this and only see numbers. Then it's worse when Nissan supersedes a prior number. Then there are situations like the MAF sensors where they ARE interchangeable if you address the thermistor issue. But clearly, those MAFS should have different part numbers. So, do t judge your parts counter too harshly.

The good counters (like Courtesy and nissanpartsasap) are interested in us and our business and are willing to learn these interchangeabilities. That's part of what make these parts depts fantastic to deal with.
