I always see this and feel weird......My radiator support is still gray like my car with no rust at all and looks like its factory new (well...you know)......Is this only a northern states issue?

but, back to the original topic. i totally agree with the person that said to check the high-pressure power steering hose, i had to replace mine about a month ago because it cracked in the same spot that happens to EVERYONE. new owners have to keep in mind that these cars are almost 12 years old, so parts just get worn out over time. bring the car to a knowledgeable mechanic and just have them check out the whole car, whatever needs replacing, replace immediately.

why is that exactly? i've got 6k DDM Tuning HID's that replaced the original halogen bulbs and they look great and have no glare. i'm just curious cause you said to never use HID's in place of halogen?

No disrespect but this list needs to consider location. Being in sunny CA (having come from the NE) things like rust, etc. are not really a concern. Just my $.02 for a 5th gen (02) what I would recommend are (assuming you want something that performs better than a sedan):
- get all the TSB's sorted out (especially the squirrel for the MT, left side radio cut out, lower steering arm, etc.)
- change the springs and add a drop - improves the handling significantly
- change the rims for 18's or higher (if you are inclined) both for looks and for less side wall flex
- get better tires than OEM - I personally like the Potenzas S02's but they don't last long
These are all pretty much DIY jobs and aren't going to cost you $$$. You can consider more extensive changes but this car already has quite a lot of power. Adding more power is likely to get most of us bad wheel hop.
Don't get me wrong. I am very happy with my car. It's been great. Started with a 3rd gen (89) got a 5th gen (02). Wonder what I will be doing next (15). Seems like MTs are going to be gone by then.

This ridiculous(and childish) cult following needs to stop in the 5th gen forum...This thread is over, you are more than welcome to start a duplicate thread, without all the noob bashing...
