I been through the same thing, its like they stopped making stuff for the 5th gen maxima, thats so odd cuz usually companies sell more Performance aftermarket parts for cars after 6+ years and once the cars hit the 10yr mark they start selling intakes n stuff like hot cakes cuz the cars are way cheaper to buy and the owners are now younger kids so they spend more on them to "hook em up" and for some reason theres like very lil aftermarket support especially for intakes. I found the injen intake for my 03. Everyone else makes their own home depot intake n such......

The 5.5 mid-pipes could be easily fabricated locally. You could basically make your own stainless steel Berk if you wanted to.

1ft 3" stainless steel pipe:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/3in-304-STAI...7755c0&vxp=mtr

1ft 5/8" stainless steel pipe:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Stainless-St...item19ca9707c2

I could give you better specs on the length and where the 5/8" barb comes out of the pipe.

Here is a picture of the one I bought for a VQ30DE-K.

5.5's don't need the two vacuum connectors on the smaller pipe, and in my case in particular am going to take an inch from the right side so it brings my filter a little closer. It sits very close to the battery as it stands with my bellmouth.

I actually just bought a used Berk mid-pipe and pieced the rest of it together.

I'm just saying it's such a simplistic design by nature, why spend $100+ on a mid-pipe when you could probably have an exhaust/machine/welding shop fab it up in 10 minutes and paint it with some high temp paint.

Just food for thought since aftermarket options are dwindling. Thanks for the compliment though.

The only thing with stainless is the welding is not very easy. If you take it somewhere to get welded and they don't work with stainless you can easily up with crappy welds that look like sh*t or worse they are leaking.

Gotta be careful with who you choose...

I'd have to look into that, it would most likely be some kind of group deal. I have a couple of reputable shops local to me that would surely make the cuts and weld for me.

Agree 100%... I'm lucky to live in a pretty small area and still have quite a few options.

About as generic as it gets:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/304-121-101-...2af06b&vxp=mtr

Another option is to keep your resonator closest to the throttle body and running a filter off of an MAF adapter.

ill send him a text to check his PM's here.
I know he was trying to do them in a 'set' instead of just one because there's no money in doing just one.

I didn't make a short ram, but I adjusted the factory setup and replaced the baffle box thing.

i used a straight section of spectre brand (autozone) intake that has the holes for the nipples to fit into. used one for the crank case ventilation. used a coupler from an old injen intake to join to the maf, used the hemholtz to connect to the throttle body.

I know this is slightly OT but is the injen cold air intake worth the money? Looks like Amazon has it for $250.

I love my injen but honestly once you hold all the parts to the intake it feels like its not worth 250 but then you stomp on it and it sounds amazing so its then feels like its worth it, its complicated

Hit up can't.get.ryte for one of these bad *** 4" intakes. My car makes serious power. Couple other members on here are running them and can vouch. Car will need a tune Immediately after the install, I also have a velocity stack and an aem dry flow filter, nwp throttle body, 380cc injectors etc etc.

Man that 4" looks ridiculous! I can imagine it'd go super lean with all that added airflow.
There's no simple 3.5" mid pipes like the one above? You guys know anything?

I was actually looking into a Blox velocity stack with a filter, how exactly can I make my own? Just get 3.5" steel pipe and have it cut to fit or what? Wouldn't welding be included too?
