Lowering Springs
|
Hey guys, I'm in the market in buying lowering springs and would like to know your opinions on witch springs are the best! I want to be sitting low and having good spring rates for occasional track days!

i om tien springs on my tsx and they ride very smooth and i have tien coilovers on my maxima and they ride about the same sorry i couldnt answer your question very well goodluck!

Just dont do s-techs and if you want real feed back ask djfreestyle in his suspension thread he has done hundreds of setups

Right here. I loved them. Pretty even drop. ~2finger wheel gap all around which i was pretty happy with until i got coilovers. |

H&R I think offer the best ride for lower springs. The biggest issue I have with them is the lower seems too modest in the front to the point it doesn't really look lowered. I have about a 3 finger gap. I'd say the best route is to save for coilovers.

Coilovers are hands down the best you can get lol I got H&R and would agree looks like a lot of weight in the back but o well amazing ride quality like riding on glass

I have had Eibach with tokico blues, Tien H-techs with Illuminas, and currently have Tien S-techs with Illuminas.
H-techs are way to soft, very bouncy, and the drop is not much different than Eibach.
Eibach are nice ride and I project could be better with a nice set of adjustable struts, but the drop is not that low. The front will sit higher than the back, or at least it looks that way.
S-techs are a nice ride and the drop is awesome, I have my Illuminas set on 3f/4r. Handling is good but I can't tell you exactly because I did a bunch of suspension mods at once. I will say these spring ride nice but they are harsh on your axles, I have to replace one now.
I agree with the coilovers, if you got the money get them. I have heard a lot of good things about H&R too. I got my S-techs from a org member for $100 and spent $500 on the Illuminas brand new. If you were to buy everything new it would almost be as much as some coilovers (especially a nice used set), and with coilovers you can change the ride height whenever you want.

I had the eibachs for about a year now. I put them on my stock struts and at the beginning it was fine i really enjoyed it and now i feel it to be very rough, maybe cause my stock shocks are now dead who knows. I like a rougher ride but i feel like the ride quality has really diminished. Feels horrible now lolz, every bump sounds like car is breaking.

I been searching n searching can't make my mind up i know i want a stiff solid ride that can hug a corner firmly and i think eibach is one I'm looking for but if the front sits higher then rear jus like my stock springs I'm good i want a even drop...any advise?

'Better' than SE springs is relative based on preference.

Well i don't want a Spring that's just as soft as Stocks that's the whole point in upgrading is to have a Firmer better handling ride.

Go modest with H-Techs, I am very happy with mine. Sporty, good height without getting obnoxiously low. And you can get them for under $200

H&R's are a nice set of springs. Gives you good ride quality with better handling over stock. I've used them on my 4th & 5th gens & have been pretty happy with them.

I have Vogtland (1.5" drop front and back) paired with KYB Excel-G.
I don't like the ride at ALL. Maybe its because I live/commute around the Chicago area, where there are lotsa potholes.
But if I could do it over again, I'd get Illuminas. The OE struts just arent very comfortable.

^ i took a half coil off of the front of my H&R's and the drop is almost even now.
Didn't notice too much difference in the ride other than a slightly 'firmer' feel. Got a definite firmer than stock (SE) feel now and hugs corners nicely. The new suspension bits(LCA/endlinks/tierodends) up front helped with that as well
