Swapping out Steering wheel in I35

I have a 2002 I35 which does not have heated seats/steering. Kinda sucks that they didnt make it standard. I was wondering how much work would it be to install a heated steering wheel. I cannot stand the woodgrain steering wheel and if it is too much work then I will just install the leather steering. Are the I35s prewired for heated steering?

I'm trying to figure the same thing out for my 2003 maxima.... also the seats.. I've heard that the cars are pre wired for all the options available onn the car so all you'd have to buy is the compenent (steering wheel) and it should be a plug and go kinda thing, let me know if you hear otherwise...

Ive never looked into it but I've heard similarly, the wiring should be there for seats, etc. Not sure about the wheel though, I'd imagine it is, but that's a complete guess!

I thought that all I35's came with heated seats. I guess it depends on the build destination? I've also read that they are pre wired for heat. You have to lose the woodgrain wheel reguardless, as only the leather wrap has the heating elements.

To get the heated steering wheel and seats you need to buy a cold weather package. It is not standard. If I buy a steering wheel would there be a plug to connect it? How will I get the power going. The cold weather package has a switch by the seat setting.

I know for fact that power seats are pre-wired, cuz I was at the junkyard the other day and saw a 5th gen with manual seats both driver and pass. and they both were pre-wired, I would think that heater wire would be pre-wired as well, since its part of the seat.

Why does mine have heated seats, (front and rear), and heated door mirrors, but a cold woodgrain steering wheel?

Because Canada. If I'm guessing.

All Canadian Models got Heated Mirrors standard, as well as the LSD.

They are prewired. There is a switch you have to buy - the harness is tucked/taped back out of the way (behind dash to left of steering wheel).

All the 5th gens are prewired for heated seats and 5.5 are prewired for heated other ****s - all had same harness. I was just at the junkyard and confirmed this on a 5.5 max. Not sure how ample the OEM switch is, but its probably pretty pricey from a dealer.

I will be doing this exact same thing. Looking at getting a heated steering wheel from an 04 I35. Can I run my own wire from the prewired harness behind the steering wheel or will I need the clockspring from a heated steering wheel as well?

Bumping an old thread here but this one seems to be the one out of all my search results with the most info.

I have a heated steering wheel off a 2003 GLE but I didnt get a chance to grab the clock spring at the JY or the switch.

Has anyone officially and successfully done the swap? I'd like to know if I'm going to waste my time sourcing other stuff for nothing.

Thanks
