Are these wheels what I think they are?
Hey everyone,
I'm relatively new to the maxima game, especially when it comes to tires/wheels. I've read through numerous threads on sizes, etc but before I buy these I want to make sure I'm buying what I think I'm buying.
There's a local seller with these available:
And the price just can't be beat. They're said to be "Nissan Factory 8 Spoke 18s" however I'm thinking they're from a 2006 Infiniti M35, check this picture for reference:
Now as I said above the price is great ($250 for the whole set) and the guy is selling them because he bought them for his 2002 Infiniti I35 (from another local seller) and apparently they don't fit. He said, and I quote, "my hubs are too big".
Now the bolt pattern on these is said to be 114.3mm, as is the same on my 2001 Maxima GLE, and should be the same on his car. Why would these not fit on his I35? Is it possible these are just cheap knock offs? It's hard to walk away from the price but something isn't adding up.
Can anyone confirm/deny these are from the M35?
Should they fit my 01 Maxima?
Is there any reason they wouldn't fit his I35?

OK, let's try this again, shall we?
I think the above wheels are knock-offs, and here's why: I did ebay search for M35 wheels and found the following:
(note the flatness of the spokes are not the same, these are FX35 wheels)
(more flatness on the spokes, these are 06 M35/M45 wheels)
Basically, I was unable to find ONE example of the wheels you're looking for on Ebay, based on the pictures in the original post.

Those are "real" Infiniti/Nissan rims as they have that "m" shaped symbol in between the spokes, closer to edge. Those appear to be 06 to 08 FX35 rims.

I'm pretty much ready to chop these up to knock offs. Would explain the fitment issues. Even the FX45 ones are said to be 114.3mm so I don't see why they wouldn't fit on his infiniti unless I'm missing something.

Well, assuming they are knock-offs I don't see why someone would create knock-offs that don't fit. I'm starting to think this guys definition of "fit" is the problem. Maybe they just need spacers?
I like the look of the rims, so I'm going to investigate further. I think I'll drive out and take a look at them in person and try sticking em on my car to see if they fit.
Anyone know if there is anyway to verify they're OEM ? Logo on the inside of the rim, etc ?

Spacers will not make them fit.

My '10 G37 18" wheels have the correct lug pattern (obviously), but the hub is actually really tight in the rear hubs. They fit ok in the front, although the center cap just barely made it, it sticks out about 1/32"-1/16" of an inch. In the rear hub, it's so tight, that it almost doesn't fit without a spacer. I actually couldn't get the wheel off when I tried it without the spacer, not to mention that the center cap wouldn't even go on without using a spacer. I think I have a 7mm or 8mm spacer and it looks great! So, hopefully this will help. I would definitely go look at them in person. If they say Enkei on the back, they are factory. Those are indeed some nice wheels, I like 'em! If you don't have a spacer with you, just make sure that they at least go on a little bit, a spacer will cure the rest. They'll fit on there well enough that you shouldn't get vibration. I don't have any vibration.
