Shorter shifter options

Since I am doing a 6speed swap, I was wondering if there were any other choices other than the stock shifter, it's quite tall, has anyone modified one or is there a good aftermarket choice? I looked on eBay and found some for the Altima but I don't know if that's gonna work, any input is welcome.

I don't think that any companies make a STS for the 6MT.

The only option I've seen is a few DIYs where guys have actually cut the length of the shifter, and then either re-cut new threads, or cut a section out of the middle of the shifter, and then welded the two ends back together.

Free STS mod with a pin or metric screw, ES shifter bushing's and Mod your shifter height by cutting it 1.75 inches shorter cutting same amount from plastic sleeve and puttng it back together. Weld the shifter and I used Gorilla glue on the sleeve.

The 6mt shifter is a metal stick with a plastic sleeve used for the reverse lockout.
Remove shifter assembly. Cut actual shifter 'stick' 1.75" and do the same to the plastic sleeve. Weld metal stick back together and use gorilla glue for the plastic.

I haven't done the mod but read about it previously.

Here you go

Should cost you about $2-$3 and 30-60 minutes, and you'll get shifts 25-50% faster
