I was told over two weeks ago, that they were waiting on a shipment of flex sections. I'm gonna give them right up to that 44th day before I file a dispute with Paypal. I would already have the pipe installed on my car, if I ordered it from Cattman. (So pissed off)

where did you buy the pipe from? Ebay? I just called the number and spoke to the lady on the phone.. she took my information and said that she will change my card when the pipe is actually being shipped... Still to this day there isn't a single $ charged to my account

5aprilc - I called Cattman and he does NOT have any pipes in stock... he is only taking orders for pipes and manifolds combined... you will be looking in the $500+ range and last week when I spoke to him he told me that he is expecting to ship those by the end of May...

I bought the Y pipe straight from Warpspeed's website. They took the money for the pipe out of me the same day I placed the order. Also, Brian at Cattman did have a couple of pipes in stock around the time that I ordered mine from Warpspeed, that's why I'm so pissed at myself for not speeding the extra money to have the pipe sooner. (And probably end up with a better product in the long run.)

On WSP's 5gen Y pipes

I called to learn about this before I chose to get headers. They do not get many orders on the 5gen and it is obviously not the highest priority, but just keep on them and bug the hell out of them until you get it.

They used to do great and offered org discounts(I had one on my 4th gen) but I think those days are obviously long gone.

I'm gonna call them again in a couple of hours, (After I get out of work) to see if there is any new news about the status of my order. Maybe I should have just got headers and than paid a friend of mine in beer to help me install them; since it seems like that part is easier/faster to get.

I hope u get ur y pipe soon. I wonder if it's any different ordering it on eBay. I was considering getting a SS warp y pipe and knew it was gonna take some time to get it but didn't know it was the same for the reg y pipe.

When I ordered mine from them I had zero issues. Took about 2 weeks, and they were always nice and professional when I called to check the status.

It's April 24th, and I still haven't received my Y Pipe. I'm kinda pissed that people are getting theirs in two or three weeks.

Is the horsepower increase from the headers really worth the extra hours that it will take me to install the system?

still waiting on my Y-pipe... I called them on Friday (4/20) to check the status the lady on the phone told me that she is waiting on the bent stainless steal pipes to arrive... WTF? Why would sell a product that you can't make??? Original order was placed on 4/9/12... I hope it gets done by the end of the month...

My original order was placed back on 03/15, and I didn't order the stainless steel Y pipe, so I have no idea what's taking my order so long.

Alright, so I just got off the phone with Dallas at Warpspeed, he told me that he had just finished making about 50 Y pipes for the Maxima, for years 99-01 with California emissions. And he assured me that my Y pipe will be mailed out tomorrow, so for all that are waiting on this part, you should have it soon.

I just got the email with the tracking number for my Y pipe, so hopefully, I'll have the pipe by the first week of May.

Now let's just hope, it comes to my house in one piece; with my luck, they beat the sh*t out of it before they shipped it out to me.

I forgot to ask this question. After I install the Y pipe, will I than need to run o2 simulators? I guess you foiled say that I'm worried this upgrade will turn my SES light on.

For anyone curious as to how long it took for me to receive this Y Pipe, I ordered it back on March 15th, and it just showed to at my doorstep today. Since today is May 1st, it took exactly 47 days, so for anyone interested in getting this item, you have an idea of how long you can expect to wait.

photobucket.com

sign up and up-load your pictures

then view the album and there are a series of links under the picture, one being "direct link". click on it and it automatically copies it.

then in the text box here on the .org, there is a yellow box in the menu bar that looks like a postage stamp. paste it there

sloppy welds too bu they look beefy enough.

The Warpspeed Flex has had issues throughout the years- be prepared to swap it at some point.

I thought the same thing about the welds, they definitely look rushed. I might have been able to do smoother beads.

And about the flex section, as long as I can get 1-2 years out of it, than I'm happy. I'll buy Cattman next time.

If I could do it over again, I would have purchased from Cattman, maybe when this one sh*ts the bed, I will.

So its now March 11th, and I finally decided to install this pipe on my car. I really wasn't in a hurry as you can tell from the date this thread was created. Anyway, the job took three hours to complete, and I had to reuse some of the exhaust bolts that were already on the car, they still looked good so I just put them in the grinding wheel for a bit. I installed all new O2 sensors, the exhaust hanger, and applied RTV gasket sealant to the flanges.

I lower the car from the lift, start it up to check for leaks, so far so good as I don't hear any. But when I drive the car in reverse, it sounds like the pipe is banging around, also there is a ton of drone. Has anyone else who has installed this pipe, experience this issue?

-Charlie

Making thwm anymore. You might be confusing that with the header/y-pipe combo, in which case, that Y will only work with the headers, not the stock exhaust.
please tell me if I'm wrong, and I'll be first in line for that Y!

I was warned by some people that it can make an exhaust sound droney. One person even told me it made his car sound like a tractor Im guessing if you have an exhaust system already you might need to add resonators or a chambered exhaust instead of straight through...

The Y pipe is the only mod that I have on my exhaust. I was wondering if I got one of Warpspeed's performance CATs, and a CAT back exhaust, if the sound would be better?

I'm gonna take the car to an exhaust shop and have them look at it. Maybe I installed something wrong.

My car is making some serious crunching sounds at start up and at idle now. I think one of the RTV gaskets might not be holding, and for some reason, this Y pipe didn't come with flange gaskets, and I even had to reuse some of the bolts.

So to anyone thinking about buying a Y pipe, you might want to consider searching elsewhere.

crunching sound could be the hangar rubbing the bottom of the car. I had a similar problem years ago when I installed my Y, it rubbed the paint off in one spot. I readjusted it and haven't had a problem since. also make sure everything is tightend down good.
