Okay guys need some help here! So recently i been noticing in my back passenger side wheel, one lug nut has been coming off. i figure it was probably loose and that was the reason, so than i replaced it with the same exact one, but than noticing a couple weeks later it came off again, so havent really had time to go pick up another so i been driving with 4 lug nuts in that one tire (local driving) figure i pick it up over the weekend. but than i did an oil change and all of a sudden noticed another one from that SAME exact wheel was missing so i now i have 2 lug nuts missing from this same wheel. AND yes they were all tighten. So idk what sense it makes to go rebuy 2 new ones i wanna make sure their the right size.
I guess my question here is what size lug nuts should we be using???
someone recommended me to buy a new set the size (12x1.5)
btw the set i have right now are spline drive lug nuts.

No not really any vibration, im dropped on stech springs so i mean i get a harsh drive any way. when im slowing down at high speed sometimes yeah. nothing serious.

Don't get 12x1.5 lugs. They won't fit your studs.

I recommend changing all of your studs on that wheel and getting new lugs.

Nope. Ours are 12x1.25

oh okay. but with out lug nuts being 12x1.25. is their any way to get a longer lug nut? that actually will fit?
i know ive seen guys with maxima's and their lug nuts have a good 1/4 poke out

Aright so i just replaced the two lug nuts and im gonna wait to see what happens. i know their on tight for sure now. and if it happens again im gonna replace the studs. i got it priced to replace the 2 studs and they told me $80.
Has anyone replaced their own studs??!! if so how complicated is it. i heard all it takes is to really hit it out with a mallet. and put the new one in.

You have to remove the brakes to get to the studs. If you're comfortable removing your caliper, pads and rotor then do it yourself. From there, it just has to be hammered out and pull the new one through but you'll need a few big washers to help that.

FWIW, I don't think extended lugs will help you at all.

Alright thanks a lot man, yeah i think im better off doing it on my own, shops are charging way too much for what i can do in probably do in half an hour.

Try moving that wheel to the other side, something is obviously wrong here and I don't think extended studs are where I would start. Your wheel may have a crack in it.

Are you putting your wheels on with a torque wrench? How do you know they are properly tightened.
