What's up guys, I'm putting a new system in my 2000 max and it has the 60/40 split folding seats. I'm looking to mount an amp board on the back of the seat but I'm not sure what materials/screws and whatnot to use.

Back when I first had the car and did my first system I tried just screwing the amp in the back of the seat, but that didn't work out too well seeing as how there's really no hard/sturdy surface to screw into on the seat.

Was basically just wondering if I should use MDF/ Plywood or whatever for the board, and the best way to attach the board itself to the seat back.

I have an amp mounted there. I just screwed thin wood into the seat with a hole bunch of screws. I think they were 2" screws maybe 1 1/2"..Then I just threw the amp onto the wood and screwed it in with short screws. Works fine for me. Looks a little cheap/tacky but it got the job done for me as just screwing the amp in with the 4 screws would not hold. No one sees it anyway IMO.

MDF Wrapped in Faux Vinyl bolted to the rear of the seats, and the amp attached to the board. Very sturdy, and turns the 60/40 into a 0/100.

I have to call you out on the JL gear lol how much that run ya? million dollars lol? That is a nice mounting position and I share your desire to hide absolutely every wire too. To the op, you can buy automotive grey carpet that should be a good match at Best Buy or your local craft store. You could even buy some faux black suede and I think it would go well together

That's probably the cleanest install I've ever seen. You sir do not play around with car audio.

And bolted you say? So like a threaded bolt I'm assuming?

I have my amp mounted to the back of the box and the wires all run right under the little trunk liner plastic stuff so looking directly at the box, you can see a single wire and also at night, the amp looks really cool through the arm rest hole that I have opened up for A/C flow to my amp. BTW the red wires are jumper cables lol not 0 gauge wire like some idiot said earlier

Ok this is what I did wnen I had mine I took a peace of mdf and cut it where it fit back there behind the strut mounts and mounted two amps and a little battary to it came out clean and the board screwed to metal that way when you opened my trunk all you seen was my t2
