Jumpy or feels like the rear end skips? If you can wiggle the wheel back and forth, your trailing arm bushing is done.

Don't forget to get the new bump stop too.

Good does not equal budget.

But since you’re cost minded just get 2 of these and be done with it.

Amazon Amazon

I appreciate that. I'm not trying to come off as cheap I just don"t want to invest $500+ on a car worth $1500. Not a logical investment. What about this? https://maxima.org/forums/4th-genera...ion-stuff.html

Moog spring with Nissan insulators?

After searching this thread could not find anything on this.

Recently changed front struts for '02 GLE to KYB Excel-G and Moog spring (Advance PN 80978), KYB strut mounts and bearings. Mechanic said the KYB mounts and bolts did not fit and that the tower plates were bent on both sides. He re-used the old Nissan bolts and made the KYB mount holes bigger. The old tower gaskets were torn, throw away during install. Moog springs were taller than stock.

During install, mechanic changed right CV axle and removed subframe cross-member to get access. He replaced cross-member after axle replacement.

After install, got a new loud clunking noise/vibration when turning steering wheel in either direction, parked or moving. Mechanic said the Moog spring had a rounded top and bottom and didn't seat well with the Nissan insulators versus the stock spring. He also thought the new Excel-G might be damaged because when he tested them before install they didn't spring back quickly (they were separate Tire Rack, AutoZone orders).

As possible fix, I ordered Nissan tower gaskets, mount brackets, mounts/bearings and bolts/nuts after reading on one of the boards that Nissan mounts prevent the strut from moving in the tower.

Can Moog spring be used with Nissan insulators (PN 54034-AG001, 54036-2Y000). I plan on re-using the old insulators. Before the install, the front struts were completely shot and the stock springs spongy but there was no noise/vibration when turning the wheel.

Appreciate any help, thanks
