Hidden/tucked muffler?
So recently i had the whole exhaust off my car, and kinda liked the look of the back end without the muffler. Im just wondering if any one has a custom system, or just a modified stock axleback, that is hidden or tucked a bit. I just got access to a whole bunch of tools, welding machines and a hoist! I'm kinda bored and really dont wanna spend money on mods I can't enjoy due to weathe. So I thought it would be cool to try, if I can just cut and weld something together.

Snapped some pics with my iphone of my factory muffler. I removed the chrome/stainess tip that wrapped around both pipes. IMO it looked tacky. I then sprayed the muffler with black ceramic header paint.
The pics were just taken, and it was overcast outside. Think this might give you a general idea of how it looks.

On a sunny day, the muffler is more noticeable/visible. It does look alot better than what it did. It just looked all dingy, and I hated that huge single wraparound tip that went around both pipes. It made it look like it had one big gigantic oval shaped exhaust outlet.
I had thought about finding some tips to slip over the pipes, but I'm debating whether or not to keep the exhaust since I want to buy a Warpspeed Y-pipe and a high flow cat combo. I had the resonator deleted, and the exhaust shop welded the pipe directly to the back of the cat since the flange was getting rotted. It actually sounds pretty good without the resonator. It has a nice tone to it without it being too loud.

I had been running with a stealth flat black Vibrant axle back for a couple of years, and have recently added the stillen rear valiance. The muffler was well tucked about 2" in under the rear bumper.
Once the rear valiance was added I did notice that I was getting a fair bit of exhaust discoloration on the rear valiance and bumper skin (a real pain to clean off) So I opt'd for a set of 80mm chrome tail pipe extensions for under 30.00 as rehanging the muffler was going to run 130.00 at the local muffler shop.
Just something you may want to consider when hanging the muffler a little to far back is that the exhaust vapors will start to effect the paint color and make a mess to clean up.

It can also melt your bumper cover too. I've even seen them catch on fire before. Not good.
