Those are parking lights above the headlights, and they look like amber-coated incandescents.
However... color me stoopid, but I can't figure out how to access the headlight assembly from under the hood. I think it may have to happen from underneath, but without getting the car up on ramps, or researching it on the G-Forums, I'm stumped.
So I guess I'll have to pass on that for now.
Chances are you have to remove the wheel well lining or the bumper. All these new cars nowadays make it such a pain to access the bulbs/rear end of the headlamps.

^2008, but likely the same setup or close. EIther way wheel and splashguard will need to move, maybe not wheel off, but for the time it takes, may as well. It'll give you a chance to touch your Calipers

^Not serious, right?
Rochester would never, I repeat, NEVAR! put that hideous trash on his car.
How do you like the heated seats? With leather in the winter, I feel it's almost a must. My old Monte Carlo,( recently sold it), was sans heated leather. She was nasty cold on the arse for the first 10 minutes or so.

I love 'em. Haven't had heated seats in a car in 10 years, not since our old 2000 Volvo S40.
The temps are going to be in the 40's tomorrow. Maybe I can get the rest of the car claybar'd and waxed. Got the nose, hood, roof and trunk done.
It's pretty.

The wax is working ok for you that cold? Or do you have heat in your garage?
No heat, just patience.
After the clay, I'm using Maguires Tech Wax 2.0. When temps are this low, you need to give it an hour or more before buffing with a microfiber towel.
I have to do it, spock... I don't think the original owner did anything except go through the car wash, and the dealership sure didn't prep the paint on delivery. Fortunately, as I go over every inch, I'm not finding any flaws, scratches or chips; (except for 3 or 4 very small chips in the lower front bumper, but it is a car, after all, and I'm not interested in putting that chip-guard film on the G.)
I'll be doing it all over again in a couple months anyway. Tech Wax is awesome, but it doesn't last like old school paste wax does.

Skip the wax, I'd seal it first.
Wax doesn't last nearly as long.
I never used a "sealant" before waxing. If the paint is clayed, then you wax. The Tech Wax works very well. I only wax my car twice a year, once in the spring when it warms up, and once in the fall before it gets cold. It lasts just fine. Never loses it's water beading properties.
The problem with most people that detail cars is that they feel the need to take all of these crazy steps and buy these products in these fancy bottles with their fancy names in their fancy hardshell cases. It's just not necessary.

Moving on...
Where is Scottwax when you need him.
I don't want to steal Johns thread so I'll just say I've used many different waxes and nothing lasts close to as long as a synthetic sealant - including meguiars techwax in my personal experience.
There is more to detailing cars than just claying and waxing, including paint correction.
However. Moving along.

Yes, I've done plenty of paint correction (wet sanding, high speed rotary buffing) Like I said, I used to detail high end cars, and I did for many years. When you're detailing a car that costs a half a million dollars, you better know what you're doing.
As you guys pointed out in answering your own questions, I'm using Maguires Tech Wax 2.0, which isn't exactly a wax. As long as you give it time to cure in the cold temps, it buffs out just fine and like normal, eventually.
Of course, I didn't know that until I tried.

you know I had this huge thing typed up and it was awesome. Then I hit the back button on the web page and lost it all so I'll just sum it up now.
That car looks amazing. It truly does. It has an extremely aggressive look while maintaining it's luxury factor. I really can't wait to see it in person, which actually isn't too long from now.

Someone is about to come back to the Org.
Brace yourself, merovi... you'll need to develop a thick skin for all the 4x4 comments. On second thought, replace those Tokico's with a set of CO's and you'll be sitting pretty.

I kind of did here and there. The Maxima *feels* about as fast or faster at various moments, but still slower overall. The G's handling makes the Max feel like a lumbering boat, which is crazy, because it isn't. The G has so many gadgets that it makes the Max seem kind of raw. That pretty much sums it up.

The garage shots are real. And my sig photo shot is real, although I did brush out the front plate, because I can.

You know... after all the aftermarket suspension headaches i've had I'm leaning towards just leaving it alone. If I do anything at all it'll be springs and leaving it at that but i'm really not even thinking of that right now. I honestly like the car so much as is I don't have a single plan for it other than registration. Ooops, said too much already
Yup, that's the OEM front lip for the Sedan with the Sport Package. That be the one. Interestingly enough, it doesn't lower the car at all. Not a single millimeter. It just attaches and juts forward a little.
Those 3 vertical lights next to the fogs look kind of dumb at first impression.

I took the Maxima to drop my daughter off to dance class. Turns out that was the very last time I'm ever going to drive it. After 9.5 years, and countless hours obsessing, and cleaning, and tinkering...
It's over. Kinda sad.

Same is happening to me soon. My 01 is going to be sold and im moving on to a 04 6 speed. Just need to fix the timing cover leak and done.
Seems like all of us get that attachment feeling to pile of metal.

It's almost like saying goodbye to an old girlfriend. Almost.

Are you REALLY going to miss it though? I thought I'd miss mine until I drove the G for about a day. Then I saw my maxima sitting on the road looking all lonely, and I didn't care.
A little different though, considering you already had a 6MT 3.5, and I went from a 3.0 Auto to the G 6mt 3.5.... to be fair.
