Personally, I think it would be alot of work to part it out with minimal gain. I would just sell it as is. That's just me though.

Sell it out......from what it sounds like you need the money now.....parting out would take a long time.

Not really that bad and there is money to be made.all you need to do is goto the classified section of this board and post up color, year, engine, trans and what your willing to part with.people will start asking for parts!first things to go will be headlights, coilpacks,MAF, just brouse around the classified section and get a feel for what you'll be charging for the parts.

How well a part out goes really depends on what goes on on your end. People are all over part outs on here. If you're good about getting back to people quickly and moving parts fast, you can make a lot of money very quickly. If that car in your sig is the one being parted, there's already some things I know I'd be interested in because I can see it's black.

part outs take a long time to make money. I would say well over a year. Once the hot ticket items are sold, you're left with misc items that sell poorly and big items like doors and shell that usually don't sell at all due to size and weight and the difficulty to ship.

lots of things come into play but I would recommend selling it on craigslist for cheap and that way you have a stack of cash that you can invest into another car instead of $20 here, $40 there over many months that will leave you with no real money to invest into anything substantial.

good luck.

Parting out for me a 97 se high miles leather was worth more than selling.

You need a place for the car to sit for a long time.
You will always be busy with people picking up parts, answering emails or PMs, returning cell calls all the time etc.

Cancellation, no shows and people changing there mind will happen all the time.

At six months you can make money on the things that are common for breaking on these cars and things people want to replace. ie. Fog lights, MAF, AC condensor, senors, good exhaust systems and interiors etc. I say about $900-$1000.

After that it will be slow and your prices will drop allot because no one needs your parts and everyone has seen your parts for 6 or more months on the site.

If you work hard and stay on top of it and start shipping stuff you could end up with $1000-$2000 from personal experience. Shipping really cuts into your profit because no one wants to pay more than they can if they picked it up.

I had my car in a lot not close to my house so sometimes I drove over there to sell a $10 parts. Not really worth it allot of times.

And yes small money $10, $20 here and there was spent everywhere and never gets accumulated to a total payout of $2000.
It became mostly gas money after the initial big sell off.

my2cents.

In a general business sense, you will make more if you break up the whole(your car) into parts and sell, But it will take longer to sell everything too. If you have the time to put in for a part out then do that but if not I'd recommend selling whole car.

Sell the car as is man. If you have OEM rims that's about $500-700,after market audio, engine work or lip kit will go easily but you'd be stock with the shell and that's going to end up at the scrap yard for $50. Just sell it as is and save yourself the stress of phone call inquiries and who wants what and how little they can offer you.

there is no specific amount of $$$ you can put on parting a car, all depends on how much you have invested in it and the demands in the parts you have for e.g
*a minimal damaged leather interior can go for mor than perfect cloth
*a cattman catback can go for more than a OEM catback
* header system
* headlights, MAF n all those misc high demand things, suspension... u can possibly come out with even $2-3K worth of cash in just those things, advertise hoods, trunks doors moreso in your local section
