Unknown vibration question

ok...first, the car i have now is a 02 maxima se, 6 speed, with 122k on it. bought it sometime last year with just over 100k.

over the summer, i was replacing items on the car...struts, rotors, belts, etc. anything that looked like it needed to be replaced. in september i replaced both axles...mainly because both boots had a good rip in them and i was concerned about their lifespan. monday, coming home from work, i clicked into 2nd gear and the whole front end started a violent wobble. pull the clutch in...no wobble. i limped it to a small mom and pop garage down the street..the guy threw it on the lift...and low and behold..the passenger axle was broken. i went to advanced auto...(where i got the axle..and BTW...is the only place i could get one besies the dealer), and they got me another one. the mom and pop garage replaced the axle(he told me the trans was down a pint ot two of fluid). the mechanic had asked me if i had ever noticed a vibration. since i bought the car there always was a slight vibration....but i kinda attributed the vibration to the many scuffs on the stock rims as being a slightly bent rim. the mechanic said there was a vibration on acceleration...and when i drove the car...the vibration i always felt was there...just more prominent.
my question is....has anyone ever had the same issue....i was wondering if there is a carrier bearing that holds the passenger axle up...maybe thats shot...or maybe something internal?

any ideas??

There is a thread on here about axles and how some are good and others are garbage, and that lowering the car causes more stress and vibration on the axles. I will see if I can find it.

Talltom nailed it. The GSP axles do not have dampeners. The rubber piece around the outside of the oem axle shafts. I unfortunately have GSP axles too. I get the vibration but on on acceleration. I have had them for two years and no wear problems yet.

I just smashed a GSP in my driver side and i gots the vibration too, It's really annoying. No dampener on the GSP either. Check and see if your axle seals are leaking. If they are chances are you have a bad diff bearing in the trans or the axles were not properly installed, Ask me how i know.

Dampener is prolly like $50 after shipping....

PS. My non-dampened GSP axle doesn't vibrate or wobble... Even when the car is dropped about 4"
