the 3 inch cattman's made good power on motors making a lot less than 350 so that's not really true.

Since your resulting numbers are so exact please post the dyno and other research information.

Otherwise, "Troll, troll, troll your boat..."

There was a post YEARS ago on here that related exhaust size to engine displacement and power output...it had a nice graph and everything.

Those small block Chevy's he wrenches on that breathe through one intake and exhaust valve and rev to 5,500 rpm might apply to that old exhaust chart, but not so much to more modern cars with newer technologies, 4 valves per cylinder, variable valve timing, variable intake manifolds, and computerized fuel and spark timing.

lol SurraTT gained 8whp on the dyno when opening his cut out, and he even has a cattman 3" already. These kind of posts are dumb.

/thread...lol exactly

It isn't about displacement necessitating diameter size...unless it's a low-RPM engine.

You can't just make some random link between exhaust diameter and hp and think its universal. Regardless of what "backpressure" "experts" say (mostly ppl who can't afford a 3") I've seen everything from hondas to maximas to audis all see gains from a 3" both N/A and FI. People with cutouts see gains. Its a trade off between sound and power BUT this isn't always true. For instance take a stock Maxima and put a cutout and you probably won't see any gains much (depending on location of cutout). You have to remember velocity plays a key role. A 3" by itself probably won't see much gains over a 2.5" but when you start adding all kinds of other mods it really compliments it well and frees up that extra power. I don't believe in crap about backpressure and too big is too bad because your engine is going to push that exhaust out regardless so let the fuking thing breathe.
