Consult 2?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/CAN-B...item23141ec1b2

Is this the tool in question for bumping up the timing? My assumption would be that I need to supply a computer and the software that comes with it is all I would need?

For $30 if that is the case, cool. For $30, I wouldn't be surprised this isn't the case

I wonder if it comes with the software, but no license? You'll have to buy a license on-line to enable it... just a thought.

$32... that's just way to good to be true.

That's what I am thinking. I've never seen a unit so I wouldn't know. They have others that look like they have a hand-held lcd unit so I am not sure...

Try ....what?
Read the listing....

It's a connector cable between an OBD2 port and a PC.

"- No software is supplied with this device
-It works on all Nissan cars that have the grey 14pin Consult connector (you'll usually find it near the fusebox) (This cars are usually build from year 1989 to 2000)"

If I went on Ebay and said I had a consult 5xgt and it could program any car from Ford to a Zonda then it must be true.

I still say go with UpRev Cipher. 200$ with a lot of options. It uses the Consult II interface.

Consult II is only a handheld device.

I have the Cipher cable and it's worked just fine for advancing timing. You can also do a TON of datalogging which I plan on utilizing very soon. I run Cipher through a little netbook so the whole setup is very minimal.

I'd trust products like the one listed above as much as almost anything else on eBay...which isn't saying much. You really do get what you pay for 99% of the time.

Consult 2 will work for cars past the year 2000. you have to get a seperate cable end that has an OBD hookup. But for 30 bucks, good luck is all i have to say. You wont get any data cards that go with it and from Nissan I think its about 5 g's

Well nevermind about the data card thing. I thought it was the actual handheld yellow Consult 2. but I guess not..
