Velocity Stack, Filter Required?

I was just curious as to wether or not it would be unsafe to run the velocity stack without the cone filter, and just with a mesh screen on it instead. Thx

Why would you do that? Just run a dry flow filter.

Have you ever run a cone filter? IF you have, did you ever look at it? I find small nats and bugs and what looks like pollen and small seeds in mine often. That's not even looking at the other various debris that gets trapped.

Just trying to challenge your thinking on this a bit. You think a small screen is going to protect your MAF and your engine? Really? What is it that you think a filter does; it's purpose?

I run w/o a Filter at the track, love the way the car screams.

Could be because I have a dirty/old filter but the throttle response is ridiculous.

I would NOT run w/o a filter on day to day driving, too much crap on the road.

Have you considered switching to unfiltered cigarettes? That first toke sure is fine, but after a while... well, eventually you die.
