7th Gen Engine Cover In a 5.5?

I find the 2009+ covers appealing and am curious to find out if one will actually fit in my 5.5.

I like that they stopped displaying the engine displacement, and the pattern in the center-top of the cover looks good. But the huge oil-cap opening is, well... huge.

But I'm in to see what it looks like in your 5.5 gen. If you have a good relationship with the sales staff at one of your local dealerships, I bet they'd allow you to swap covers for a test in fitment and appearance.

Interesting. Might look a little weird without the rest of the surrounding plastic covers.

Is it just me or am I the only one that would rather have whats under the cover vs the actual cover?

I'm the same way, lol. I trashed my cover when it broke and never looked to replace it.

Now I just tell everyone, "Engine covers are for girls."

Look forward to the results, I like the look of the 7th gen cover. I think the curvature won't work on the 3.5 engine, but I'm still interested to see the results.

I would think they would fit....it's the same block, same bore....just a longer stroke. The outside didn't really change did it? I agree with ROC....don't like HUGE CRATER in the cover for the oil cap. Looks bigger than a golf hole.

Sure, it's the same engine. But the cover bolts up to holes in the UIM specifically designed for the cover. There's no guarantee Nissan spaced the bolt holes the same for the 7th gen, just because they did on the 6th. (Not a big fan of the 6th gen cover, btw.)

We'll find out later tonight, eh? Kind of curious what this looks like.

I don't think it will work nor look good, but we'll see when Xpcgamer post up pics, I thought of this about a year ago, but didn't look like it will fit.

*Edit* Price for the cover is way better than the price for the 5.5 gen, that's for sure.

That's really inexpensive. Isn't ours over $100 or something silly?

It won't. Nobody noticed that the 7th gen cover has 2 holes for the cover. The bottom are "push ins". Look here

Also see here

But it does not look bad if you wanted to rig it.

And for crap and giggles!

Hope it answers some questions. Oh and for the 7th gen guys. Don't any ideas as ours won't fit either!

Well, even if it did fit, the stock cover looks much better. It's the curve of the 7th gen cover that blows the whole thing.

Too bad, would have been nice to have the option, thanks for checking man. Oh and big timer having a 5.5 and a 7th!
