Looking at 5.5 gens

Ok... so since auto gle is now used more by my wife... I was looking at 6spd 5.5 gens....

Frankly I am so dismayed with what I see in our local market... I have been as far and orlando and daytona in addition to Jacksonville and the so called "excellent" for sale maxima's with about 100-120K miles don't even come close to handling and ride quality of my 204K gle.

I'm not saying the power is not there... the 5.5's do have a good amount of power... but it was'nt like wow this is awesome.. probably due to the FWD platform... my 330ci with minor mods has a much better torque feel as you leave the line and accelerate through the gears..
In what I have seen... here is a small list of parts that the cars needed:
- Leaking radiator
- gone MAF's that make the car hit a wall at about 3000-3500rpms
- door dings and bad paint touch ups
- cars without alignment
- bald tires
- tint bubbling and peeling
- interiors that say... i live out of my car and i dont take a bath everyday

Which of the above would say the car is in "excellent" condition??

In fact the same trend even carried on with a couple 04 TL's 6spd I saw.. I understand you want top money for it.. but when your leather has rips and signs of never been conditioned... damn..

Seriously... these people really think they can sell their cars for top dollar?

My frank question is... Can I really find a good condition 6spd 5.5 gen for about 7K? I saw one in the classifieds that seems to be well kept and hopefully the owner responds... but now i know.. when my car is up for sale.. i'm going to say "Showroom condition" LOL

</END RANT>

That's quite a rant.

It shouldn't be too hard to find a good condition 6MT for under $7K. Heck, next summer I'm selling mine for $6.5, and you'd be hard pressed to find a 2003 in better shape than mine. With low miles... well-modded... from the original owner...

My point is -- there *are* reasonable people out there, asking realistic prices for good quality (albeit 10 year old) cars. Patience, OP.

Just sold my 6MT meridian with HSLD which I thought was in excellent condition for 5300. However I was looking to sell fast and didn't want to wait around for the right buyer. I guess it's all about timing in the end.

for the price 7 grand you should have no problem and a well maintained 02-03 vs a 330ci dont know about that one what those have in hp and torque...

An Altima just aint a Max. Or an I35 in my case, (even more extreme).
