New tires, bad handling!

I never saw this happen before, so thought I would share it with y'alls.
I bought 2 front tires and had them installed by my regular tire guy. They were Bridgestone Potenzas, 225/50/17.

Drove off and noticed the car pulled to the right a bit, maybe torque steer.
It used to pull just slightly to the left, so that was odd. The more I drove it the more I realized how bad the torque steer was. Give the car just a bit of throttle, even at 60mph, strong pull to the right.

I check the tires, both looked good, they were exactly the same.
Until I noticed one said "RFT" on the sidewall.

Yeah, a runflat. Evidently the extra weight of the runflat did something to my ltd slip diff that made the trans send a lot more power to the left wheel. making the car pull right.

Went back to my tire guy, he put the correct tire on and now everything is smooth, no pull, no vibration.

It was a weird 24hrs with the car. Squirreliest ride I have every experienced.

Just thought I'd mention it in case someone else has it happen. It was difficult to notice since all the other stuff on the sidwalls matched perfectly.

Previous owner had put run flats on my maxima and he said they didn't work up front and he had to put them in the rear. He said something about it handling funny with the run flats on the front.

I would think that you would need to have 4 of the same type of tire installed for good handling.

Hmm. Mine (bought two weeks / 600 mi ago) is a little squirrelly... was gonna go for an alignment. But it doesn't ALWAYS pull consistently.

It's got mismatched fronts. (apparently one met an untimely end... the other three tires match!).

Maybe I'll swap fronts n rears and see what happens....
