Ebay headlight and drop for my 2k SE

So got some time today decided to install drop springs, shocks, and headlight. Also independent fogs on mod. Finished everything in 9 hours by myself. Honestly I didn't think I could get it all done today. I was planning on spending 2 or 3 days.
So here are some pics. let me know what you think guys.
Thanks to all the great info here at .org, everything went smooth.
.
my headlights were very yellowed and foggy
here is side by side with (taiwan made ebay angel-eye projector headlight)

After install:

The Halos are not really bright and has blueish tint.

Silverstars:

I am satisfied with the outcome

Very happy with the drop since I didn't wanna go for the slammed look

Tiny bit fender gap, I hope the springs will settle slightly.

I am thinking about getting the same setup. Looks nice!

Update us after a few months of driving to see how it rides and whether or not the springs settle.

i am new to this and hope this only counts as a post and not a new thread. my black 2000 GLE Max is in need of one final upgrade, headlights, but i would be trading the great oem headlights, which work fantastic, for a great looking after market, halos, whatever, that may leak water here in weather challenged chicago and may not have the great illumination from all angles. any suggestions?

you can buy them with/without HID's. Either way, they run h3 bulb IIRC, not a proper HID set up, and not a proper headlight bulb.

They look ok during the day, the output and overall apearance at night looks like garbage civic junk. Just IMO of course.

Those are Q45 oem rims with the caps missing. Tires are 245/45/18 Yokohama yk520.

They look decent during the day. Night output is kind of disappointing. I'll get pics soon. It's in "W" pattern. But with my fogs on little better.

Nicely done! I used H&R springs on mine to center the wheels in the wheel wells.

I like the halo look, but having seen them put out light in person on another car wasn't all that impressed. HID or halogen, no matter.

Ima be refreshing the hell outta this page tonight! I been thinking to get them but have been kinda iffy since (like said before) I've been disappointed at the actual light output on other cars. I'm just getting tired of the plain look that my 2000s headlights give. Either that or I'm jealous of those with the pretty lights

buy some 5.5 lights, if you want to cheap out, then cheap out, but don't expect to get good quality lights for like $200 or whatever. The halos burn out very fast, and the light output is AWFUL.

On a side note, I have like brand new SE headlights with only 56000 miles on them. Thinking about selling them, anyone can PM me on it if interested.

THIS. I would use the eBay halos as a temporary fill-in while refinishing and retrofitting the OEM headlights. It will look and function ten times better than that ricer eBay halo garbage.

I had the absolute worst luck with those headlights. Fitment was so bad with an inch or more gap between light and bumper. Scattered light output too.

You guys mention crappy light output, is this just with this particular light? I am looking to replace my very nasty looking OEM lights with nice looking replacement OEM units from ebay if possible. I have no desire to change the look, but the faded old lights are chipped and make the car look so old. Are the aftermarket stock repro's as good as the original OEM ones were?

Thanks guys!

chipped? Or just discolored? If they are hazy like what the OP posted, get a repair kit.

I used this and they still look new after three months of no maintenance.

Mine are really pitted! I have no idea exactly how it happened but I bought the car like that. I do appreciate you trying to save me some dough though.

Well it's been about 5 months of non-stop daily driving since the suspension install. I would say the Tein H-techs settled about another .3 in. Now I got rubbing on splashguard when ever I turn either direction wheel tilted to max, especially when making u-turns. Any one have this issue? Do I just go with lower profile tires? I got 245/45/18 al around. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Win! Looks good.

I got the same headlights, but I retrofitted G37 bi-xenon projectors and couldn't be happier! However, just a heads-up for those of you contemplating a retro on them: It's fairly expensive and very time consuming. (here's a link to my thread for those of you who are interested: http://forums.maxima.org/5th-generat...fit-build.html)

Unmodified, those ebay lights do have a lot of light scatter and the materials are rather cheap, but they are workable and have decent output with HID's - just expect to spend some time making them work right.

For me it was worth it but if you're not willing to spend too much money and devote a lot of time and patience to the project, the 5.5 gen headlights are a very good option: quality materials and bolt-on HID's with basically just wiring modifications - but the 5.5 gens don't use projectors.

That profile would work If they were 17s. As a GENERAL rule of thumb on 4th and 5th gen maximas, go with a 40 sidewall when running 18s. Plus or minus "5" from that profile number the higher or lower you go in rim size. Again, this is just a general formula to follow especially if your not familiar with sizing tires to this specific vehicle. This usually ensures that you fill out the wheel well enough for a "full" look in the wheel well, while minimizing/eliminating rubbing issues. There are exceptions to this especially when you start talking about flush fitment, or on the other end of the spectrum, maximizing the contact patch of the tire in the road.
