02 sensor simulator?

Alright, so basically my cars throwing codes left and right for the o2 sensors/ cat converter.

I heard of 02 sensor simulators that would possibly take care of that.

Was wondering if anyone had any previous experience with them/ if they knew where I could buy one.

It's a 2000 se btw.

Thanks guys -Spence'

I would just use real oxygen sensors rather than going to O2 sim.......O2 sims are used when precats are replaced by headers......

O2 sensors are expensive. I'm throwing codes for the rear 2, I'm gonna sim them. Keep trying o2sim.com, right now they r not takin orders tho.

You can have the same effect by using two saprk anti foulers..

Are you throwing both cat and o2 codes? Have you replaced either? Sometimes only one of them being bad can throw the code for both

Definitely gonna try the spark plug non-fouler trick with the o2 sensors before I jump to any more expensive fixes. I'll let you guys know how it goes

cool good luck. let us know how much u gottem for and where.

I've heard some things about how these non foulers tend to stop working after about half a year or a year and need to be replaced. I'm wondering what's more cost effective to use

Never seen a mini cat one before... I just installed a microchip sim over the weekend and reset my codes . I should know by tomorrow if it worked as I will have enough mileage to set the ECU .

I have a buddy that has a vw that the antifoulers didn't work for long. So in my experience success is hit or miss.

I installed a simulator from o2simulator.com last summer and cleared the codes and its worked perfectly. As stated before though they are not taking new orders right now. It was a pretty easy install and saved a boat load of $$ on the sensor I needed to replace. Good luck.

Just did it today. There were tornado warnings outside so I figured might as well mess with the maxima inside.

Went to pep boys today and got a small tube of anti-seize lubricant and the 18mm spark plug non foulers. $2 for the lube, $5 for the non foulers.

This link leads to a link that's very explaining to the whole process

http://www.energeticforum.com/renewa...n-foulers.html

I've driven 60 miles so far, I'm waiting for the 100 mile mark to let my emission system cycle through. Crossing my fingers for no check engine light!

This weekend, my "Check Engine" light came on and I got the PO420 code:
" Catalyst System Effeciency below Threshold bank 1 "

It cut off yesterday I think, but I need some feedback. The whip has 117,050 miles on it.

Bought an o2 sim about three months ago at o2simulator.com. Definetly the best way to go. I have 1200 miles on the car since the install and still have no problems. Best 40 dollars spent on the car to date. Let me know what you decide to do.

Welp, the check engine light came back on. BUT I don't know if it's for the 02/Cat codes or if it's just my evap code.

Anyone know anything about getting rid of a P0116?

I'll definitely give that a try when I get my car up on the lift this week.

P0116 is "ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR". I can't find much on this, just stuff on check the wire harness to the sensor and then check the sensor itself.

Only one way to find out. I'll do it this week, I've put worse things in my gas tank before. (Acetone, seafoam, etc.) Might as well do this one as well haha

You are going to put thinner in your gas tank for a temp sensor. I would rethink this and just check the sensor and wiring.

I've been running non-foulers on my car for a year now, CEL-free. I only used one non-fouler on each of the secondaries and the code went away after a day or two (100 miles or whatever the cycle is) and it never came back.

Alright, so I had done the non fouler trick on my front o2 sensor in the exhaust manifold, but I don't believe that it was the best idea for a quick fix per say. My car started running a bit rich and I noticed a possible decrease in gas mileage.

Got the codes pulled today:

P0430-Cat efficiency below threshold bank 2
P0153-Air fuel sensor 1 bank 2 circuit slow response
P0138-Heated 02 sensor-bank 1 sensor 2
P1440-Evap control system small leak

So where should I go from here? Replace the front o2 sensor to possibly throw a better reading through the cat/other o2's and possibly take care of that light and see where that goes at first?

Thanks alot guys-Spence'

Hoping someone could give me a hand here. Kinda new to the org and thought this was the right thread to ask for advice. I have a 02 maxima with hot shot headers and in need of help tryin to find the microchip sim. Since o2simulators.com have been on back order since god knows when wondering if anyone knew of a similar site to buy from.

A few members have said they have had luck with the dual sim from this site. Keep in mind I have not had experience with them myself. Perhaps, you can find more by researching it.

Thank you for pointing me in the right direction, and my inspection is up next month. I could not find any sites in the last few days of searching. I went through many different threads and found nothing. Ill give them a try and see how it goes.
