Strange metal on metal after start up....

Every morning whether I let my car heat up to operating temp or not, when I first pull off there is a loud metal scraping sound coming from the back of the car. I just got a new brake caliper rear left, and pads all around 3 months ago then my tranny went up. The car sat for 3 months and the caliper is very rusty. Stopping power is so-so at best and even worse when pads are hot. Still have factory rotors.

WTF

Just to clarify, it sounds like you didn't really drive it much after you got the new pads? Did you have the rear rotors turned?

My experience has been to only put new pads on freshly turned rotors or new rotors. Old rotors tend to have grooves from rocks or debris. I've put new pads on old un-turned rear rotors before and they never stopped making noise.
