Disable Factory Alarm In My 2000?
Is there an easy way I can completely cut out my stock alarm from going off? I had the Viper5901 installed by BestBuy(wtf was I thinking) and I think he either forgot to disable it or wired it incorrectly. I only want to bring it back to them if its not a simple thing I can fix.
Problem is, after the Viper is triggered and goes off for any reason, I shut it off and it works fine, but then whenever the next time I open my doors is, the factory alarm starts going off. I'm forced to keep my factory fob in my console in case this happens because the Viper doesnt shut the stock one off.
Any ideas?
thanks
edit: I read I could unbolt the hood sensor for a quick fix. Does this work so the factory alarm will never be armed or go off?
"For a SIMPLE solution, you can disable the stock alarm by unbolting the hood sensor. It's a push-button type thing sitting at the driverside headlight on the top of the rad support. Just unbolt it and let it sit inside the engine bay somewhere....but make sure you leave it plugged in. Doing this will prevent the stock alarm from arming, and therefore solve your issues with it going off."

Your alarm is not programmed correctly its a simple fix but you will not be able to do it.The viper needs to be setup to double pulse the factory door locks to arm/disarm the factory alarm this can only be done with the Bitwritter programming unit.
